Woods Special – Flatwing

There has been lots of chatter about Flatwing streamers on VFB the last couple days. So I figured I would post up a little Flatwing pattern called the Woods Special. Click the link for the tutorial – http://globalflyfisher.com/streamers/tips/flatwing/flatstyl.htm. This style of streamer originates in the North-east and you can see that influence in flies tied today. One of the most famous Flatwing’s is Dr. Sanborn’s Nine-Three, which also incorporates a standing wing on top of the flat wing. You can view more patterns at this link – http://globalflyfisher.com/streamers/raske/flatwing/flatwing.htm. Enjoy.
