Grizzly Prince

The Grizzly Prince streamer was designed by notary angler and founding director of the American Museum of Flyfishing in Manchester, New Hampshire, Austin S. Hogan. Mr. Hogan was amongst a group of anglers one of who is considered streamer royalty, Ms. Stevens of Rangeley. in fact, one of her original streamers, Austie Special was named in his honor. One of the most interesting concepts he employed in his flies was the stripping of the bottom of the outside hackle in the wing. By removing the lower barbules, the inner white was exposed, creating a larger belly in the fly pattern.
