Caballero Egg

It’s been a while since we served up some breakfast, so enjoy the eggs. Bacon will be coming soon enough. Another nice simple egg pattern (are there any complex egg patterns?) for hitting winter steelhead runs in the great lakes and the west coast. Execution is a little sloppy on this one, but you get the idea. Rather than trim off the egg veil, I would find a nicely tapered piece or pull it off. The little chartreuse butt is a nice touch.

I wasn’t going to mention it, but the name of the fly only reminds me of my misspent youth, roaming the city streets with a band of skaters, ripping and shredding it up.
