Ned’s Delight – Alan Grombacher

I have always admired Al’s streamers and this is the first time I have actually tied one. I found this pattern in the book “A Compendium of Canadian Fly Patterns” by Bob Jones and Paul Marriner. The book includes a few of Al’s streamers as well as some 1600 other flies, a must have for any fly tyers library. The red wing on the pattern reminds me a bit of Al’s Maligne Laker, a killer in Jasper’s trophy brookie lakes.

  1. I’ve heard of that fly, Al’s Maligne Laker, but have never seen it. Would you by chance have a photo of one?
