Hmmmm….. I’ve got nothing for the pipers piping, so let really stretch this one and go with a Zonker pattern because of the use of the Piping in the body… Ya, can you feel the stretch?

5 Gold Ribbed Hare’s Ear Nymphs
4 Baby Buggers
3 PEI Flies,
2 Blae and Black
And a soft hackle Partridge and Orange
Hook: #4 – #1 Tiemco 800S or 811S or Eagle Claw 254SS or Mustad C68S SS or other short shank hook
Thread: clear mono (fine – .006”) and 3/0 Monocord (white)
Body: small pearl E-Z Body tubing (w/ black lateral line)
Underbody / Tail: Flashabou or Sparkleflash
Wing: zonker strip (rabbit is most common, but mink, squirrel and other little furry animals with short hair make beautiful flies with unusual patterns). White, chartreuse, tan, olive are all excellent colors for the wing of this fly. Natural colors can be used to make effective freshwater versions of the E-Z Zonker. (Chartreuse fly pictured above – White fly featured in tying steps).
Eyes: size 2.5EY prismatic eyes held in place with one turn of clear thread and epoxied
