The Header Fly

Oh wow, another new blog. Yes, I decided to blog. Why? I have no idea, but I think it has something to do with the fact that I want to share a bit about the pastimes I love. You’ll note that I am not overly verbose, but what you will find is a good resource to some excellent tying sites, tutorials and videos.

So, here it is, my very first attempt at tying a blind eye, speyish fly. I’ve since gotten some insight on how to properly create the eye and have some gut on the way for the next few attempts.

Here is the recipe for this fly – Unnamed.
Hook: Partridge CS10/3 Blind
Eye: Mono loop
Thread: Black 6/0
Tag: Silver oval tinsel
Tail: Peacock sword
Body: Blue Floss
Rib: Silver oval tinsel
Beard: Silver Dr. blue schlappen
Collar: Blue dyed Guinea fowl
