Fly Tying Survivor Style

I’m a fan of Survivorman, and one of my favourite episodes has him fly fishing for brook trout in Montana. The only thing about that is that he uses a pre-made fly. (Check out the episode below) Next time Les is out in the wild, I’d like to see him attempt to make a hook from bone, use some found feathers and catch something edible on it. Wilderness Outfitters has a nice collection of survival video up on youtube and this episode shows how you could construct a fly out in the bush (provided you have some parachute cord handy) with a few materials. I’m off to get lost in the woods. If I don’t post tomorrow, just wait longer.
