Grumpy Frumpy
The name of this fly pretty much sums up my summer so far. With only a handful of days out so far because of really really high water and rain, I’ve been a bit fish deprived and well, grumpy. Clark Pierce ties up his popular Grumpy Frumpy attractor pattern in this video. It was shot on location at the 2009 Wasatch Fly Fishing and Tying Expo. The rain is sheeting down again today, and so I think I’ll have to head back to the vise to tie a few extra for my dry fly box. Be sure to watch to the end to see his technique for barring the leg color, and the sweet looking completed fly.
